Cardiff Contemporary 2014 is a site-responsive work exploring the festival theme of ‘Reveal and Conceal’, using wit and imagination to engage the public. Commissions take place in Cardiff, focusing on city centre, Cardiff Bay and close neighbouring areas. The festival takes place from 3 October - 9 November 2014.
The Design Circle and EMP Projects are working in partnership to positively contribute to Cardiff Contemporary through a series of community engagement activities with artists, architects and the design community in Cardiff and beyond among a plethora of activities are:
The Beuys Pavilion is a specifically commissioned pavilion sculpture and functional engagement space, located on the Hayes, in the heart of Cardiff City Centre for the duration of Cardiff Contemporary 2014.
The Pavilion is a locus for public engagement and provide a physical platform for exchange of ideas between artists, architects and designers and the wider public, and will provide a visual conduit to a dedicated exhibition space Unit R5 Barrack Lane, Cardiff.
